Make My Day ~Spotty, Dotty Pegs~

Untitled
Yes! Here I am again offering something to you. Hopefully everyone I sent a postcard to has received it by now.

Anyway I was itching to make some simple but lovely pegs and I have a thing about polka dots at the moment. I've only made one of these sets but if this turns out to be popular I will make another set and pick 2 people to receive them. They are great for using indoor to attach notes, letters, photos etc... to them.

So if you would like these

Make My Day~Keep in Touch~

UntitledUntitledUntitled
Well last time I was here I made a little box and I decided to buy some index cards to put in it only I bought the size that was slightly bigger then the box and I actually had the smaller ones to start with. I decided to keep these index cards and decorate them for you to have.

I've seen a lot of rubber stamp crafty things lately where people have just randomly stamped on a sheet etc... and I thought it looked great so I of course wanted to try it! Well I've decided I'm not good at it at all as I started by stamping everywhere to stop myself being fussy with it but in the end I ended up fussy trying to fill in spaces only to make a complete mess in the process. So despite my mishaps they do still look good but just don't expect them to be perfect.

I was going to use my rings to attach the whole lot together but then decided not to as you may have a better way of storing them yourself. I have included 2 pieces of white card in between all the 27! sheets (apparantly Mc needs a card of its own!).

I have rounded the edges of course as I think it adds a little something.

As always if you would like these

Make My Day ~A British Party~

And these too #rubberstamps #yarn #thread #string #british
Finally it's cheaper so I can buy myself the things I wanted as I refused to pay full price due to the expensiveness with the Olympics and jubilee #british #stickersI'm just sitting down to craft with today's supplies and just noticed these on the back of the #stickers #borders #england #crafts
A new toy, I've been dreaming about crafting with a #corner #punch #cornerpunch #crafts #supplies
Since the beginning of the year when these British themed items became available in the shops I couldn't help but drool over them and I really wanted to own some items but refused to pay the full amount. I waited really patiently and recently I noticed they were half price so bought myself what I wanted but I'm sure they will go even cheaper. In August I woke up one day and suddenly felt I wanted to create something using a corner punch... I didn't own one and usually when I create corners I make up my own template. So it meant going in search of one at the craft shop in the city, the owner told me she'd ordered loads but they would arrive the following week... how impatiently I waitied but I did and went a whole week later to buy one.... I also received a present from a parking warden but thankfully the only thing I've had to pay is the postage to appeal against it.

Once I bought everything this weekend I sat and created these and I honestly could have kept making even more... I've kept the background the same because I needed to beat the sun-set and rain clouds....
Another photo of the postcard yesterday,I can't help but show it again #telephonebox #red #blue #numbers #postcardLast one now and all of the ones I've posted will be blogged later on my giveaway blog so keep an eye open for it. #bus #words #red #white #blue #postcard #numbers #birdI also want a #minicooper . #bigben #clock #buttons #washitape #hearts #red #white #blue #hearts #postcard #british #londonWhy did they stop making these as I want one?! #campervan #rubberstamp #crown #postcard #yellow #blue #red #checkered #bunting #britishA #british themed range of postcards #rubberstamp #bigben #clock #london #bunting #stamp #bird polkadots #blue #pink #red I will be using the same background for all as its getting dark far too quickly now
The bus one I wanted to write London but I didn't have any Ns in white so had to go with the next thing even though I'm not 100% happy with it.

Remember you can always click on the images for a bigger photo which will link to my flickr. Now though I really need to sit and make some Christmas cards but for some reason I keep putting it off....

Make My Day: Best Of British

photo
photo
I bought these a couple of months ago and decided to post them this month so that it is at a similar time to the Olympics since they are held here this year.

There are 3 fridget magnets and 3 keyrings, depending on the amount of people interested I may split these up so that 3 people get 1 magnet and one keyring.

Make My Day~Secret Letter 1~Flowers, Lace and Parties~

Secret Letter
Here is another letter and this one it completely decorated by me and I had so much fun doing it. I don't know why but I've been thinking buntings and doyles lately and since Spring is in the air once again I thought this was the prefect theme to use.

Doesn't spring put a wonderful spring in your steps, like someone playing music in the background for you to dance to, the flowers are growing, the buntings coming out for weddings and parties but of course there are those little grey days too....  Well its how I feel anyway!

I have decorated an envelope as you can see but I won't be using it to post your letter as it won't fit! I can only fold the sheet in half but for some reason I never thought that would be a problem so I'm including that in with the letter and if I feel up to it I will make a new one otherwise you will except the oh so attractive brown envelope. Ah well its better then no envelope right?

Make My Day~Secret Letter 1~ Swirls and Curls~

Secret Letter
You're probably tired of seeing that same post about me asking you to e-mail your letters to me to get creative with and offer on here but finally after many hiccups with my laptop I was able to print them off and have some fun.

This one the owner of this letter created the paper themselves with the option of a blank one incase I wanted it to be entirely my work but nope I thought as this is your letter I should offer it as it is but with a little touch up from me, hopefully you don't feel I spoilt it. With the letters I received I would have loved to have been able to decorate the paper first and then printed on it but as I don't have microsoft word I had to print it first and then decorate as I couldn't arrange the way I wanted the words etc... to be. I also don't have the fonts that you used and I wanted to keep that as it reflects your personality.

You don't even need to guess that the distress ink touches are what I added, also I stamped and coloured the last image. The purple flower I'd actually coloured with the combination of purple and white but when it came to the last one I blindly coloured the wrong petal which resulted in me having to colour the whole thing. I used pro markers which are streak free but I personally find they bleed too much so I feel quite disappointed about that as I can't colour as freely as I'd hoped to. I also decorated the envelope which you can see the front and back of in the first two photos.

Make My Day ~Paper Dolls~

Today I wanted to do something simple, something I didn't have to think too hard about and just by chance I picked something up off my desk and saw some templates for paper dolls and I couldn't help making them....
Paper Doll
Paper Doll
It was fun to think of something different to do with them both but its a shame they don't have much of a face with features. I bought a rubber stamp once for it especially but the face was too big to fit in the space... maybe at some point I'll go in search of another.

You can use these as bookmarks or as a bit of decoration.

~Make My Day Birthday Bash 1~Storm Cloud Envelopes~

Well its now the time to have the last bite of the cake,
the last sip of the juice
the last nibble of the crumbs
and to begin tidying up...
Its been a great week celebrating with you
and I hope that you've all been able to shout for an item as I've tried to post something different.

At least you know that I'll continue to try and post something every week for you to try and get but for today I've create this....
Storm Cloud Envelopes
I looked up some videos on youtube for different ways to use my distress inks, one of the ideas was to use a water brush to blend the colours together... I bought a brush and decided to try it out and it didn't work... boo! Still it means that you get these much darker stormy sky type of envelopes. There are 4 square envelopes but I can't tell if I've photographed one of them twice or if they are different but look quite similar so I haven't added it in... I'm going to have  to have another look to see what I've done. If they do look similar, I'll blend another colour into it. I will also include plain white address labels too incase you decide to post something in them.

Make My Day....Born To Be British!

I have a giveaway currently going on at my burst of bubbles blog offering these salt and pepper shakers which I actually really like but won't be keeping as the shop I bought them from have so many fun different ones that I want to buy them all and I really can't afford to start another collection can I?
Telephone Box and Post Box Salt and Pepper Shakers
Whilst wrapping those I was thinking about this idea that I came across and really wanted to try but also thinking about making the children at work some Christmas cards out of another idea I saw but don't have a link for. It was using Japanese paper to make baubles and stuck on to white card... it looked so effective.... That resulted in me creating these...
Born in Britain
I ended up making a set of 3 using paper, rubber stamp and thread.
Telephone Box
Isn't it annoying that after you've created something all these ideas come flooding to you. With this one instead of the black outline I wish I'd done a wiggly one to match a telephone wire. We have a cordless one now but I've always loved the idea of twirling my finger in the coils.. I'm glad I thought to use the rubber stamp numbers to match the dial.
London Bus
I remade this one and like it so much better.
Postbox
This one was actually the first one I made, with this one I wish I'd made the border like a postage stamp but I'd already completed this one and had nearly finished the telephone box when I thought of the idea.

As for the paper if I'd plan this through it would have been so much nicer to have printed off some union jacks instead but I guess it had to be red to match all the redness of all things British. Even though I've had a good whinge I absolutely love how they have all turned out and for a first attempt. I will definately be making many more of these... hopefully very soon!

Make My Day...Winter Wonderland Altered Pegs...

I can finally say that I have completed making my Christmas Cards and I actually feel really sad about it as I had so much fun creating each and everyone... I can't wait to show all of them on my other blog but first I need to take photographs, hopefully those will turn out right. I'll have to be quick though since I want to post everything out on Thursday so that things can be received in time.

Anyway I was on pinterest and came across this

I just thought why didn't I think of that as I have so many tapes. So today when I went to the supermarket I bought some pegs to try it but when I picked them up I realised that my tapes were bigger then the actually pegs. Never mind I'll cut them down but I didn't have a theme that fitted in with the season/celebrations coming up so decided to try that another time.... instead I came up with this....
Winter Pegs
Years ago I bought a Christmas/New year craft pack and finally got around to using the pad of wintery themed paper on my cards so you can see all the different types of paper that I've used. I decided to trim some down and decorate these pegs. I just used an ordinary glue for this one as last time I used mod podge and found it too messy. I have to admit I like this way better so I'll definately will be making more at some point especially to try using my tapes.

Aren't these the funkiest pegs you've seen? I just love the swirl of the metal part of the peg, I've never seen that before, it just adds a little something extra... well I think so anyway!

These are great to hang up your Christmas cards but not your washing!

If you would like these pegs

Make My Day~It can't get cuter then this Envelopes~

Finally here I am with another little something for you... I did start this last week but never got to complete it until today... well I say complete but there are still a few things that I want to add to it. I will over the week but I wanted to post these today. I really wish I could get a set date for when I can create things still I'm sure the surprise is nice when I do.

I have a set of envelope templates which I've hardly used and want to use more of so I started by creating these floral/patterned envelopes from a pack of scrapbook papers I bought a couple of weeks ago.
Flowery Envelopes 001
I then cut out and backed these oh so adorable Toread characters, I fall in love with them all over again every time I create something with them.
Flowery Envelopes 002
So far I've created 7 envelopes but I still need to create 2 more for the last two remaining images because that rose one you see at the top in the first photo I couldn't bring to cover up. So lets see what I'll come up with there, all I know is that you'll get plain coloured envelopes.
Flowery Envelopes 005
I know the quality isn't great of my photos isn't great but unfortunately now that its getting darker earlier this will probably be what my photos will look like as I'm working during the day. Hopefully I've jazzed them up a little.

Make My Day... In the Garden with Sarah Kay...

Today I really wanted to use my rubber stamps but when I sat down to use them my black ink was on its last legs but I thought it was just my rubber stamp that was being awkward so ruined a few projects which resulted in me giving up on that for now... I then remember that I wrote a letter this week and used my Sarah Kay stickers which a friend sent me (the same friend that sent me the album, Vera De Muis images and a million other items that you'll see me using from time to time). She has been so good to me and I appreciate it as I can make all these fun items with them.... The sticker left behind was the largest one and I was still thinking of how I'd use it.

I had no intention of making another greeting card but I did and here's what I came up with.....
Sarah Kay Greeting Card 002
I started with the background paper which I felt fitted in well with the polka dots and flowers in the sticker.
Sarah Kay Greeting Card 003Sarah Kay Greeting Card 004
I then added the doyle as it fitted in so well with the background paper. I used my pro marker to colour it in but now I regret not using 2 different colours.... quite possibly the green and a brown. Oh well it still looks great. It felt like there was something missing so added the punched flower, gem and iron on ribbon (which I've stuck down with double sided tape)
Sarah Kay Greeting Card 005 Sarah Kay Greeting Card 007
I really love polka dots but don't have any paper with smaller dots on so I used my hole punch to create the dots across the top. I still had one small sticker left which I used on the back of the envelope... I try to waste as little as possible even projects gone wrong can be used in some way.
Sarah Kay Greeting Card 006
A final close up of the sticker which I just love the detail of but also the relaxed pose of this girl. I backed her on to white card and stuck her down with sticky foam.

Remember you can always make suggestion of themes you'd like me to create around. I am in the process of braining storming one idea, I just can't seem to find those items that my brain is thinking about but I'm sure it will fall into place when the time is right.

Anyway if you'd like this item

Make My Day....I think its called Love...

when you hear music, receive roses and can see stars.... or is that only in fairy tales! Hmm... where ever it maybe today its here for you to receive! Music and Roses
I bought some more craft paper last week and began working on this card straight away. Its a style I haven't tried before so it turned out to be quite a pain and took longer then expected but I hope you like the outcome :).

I decided to keep it simple in order not to lose the effect of that gorgeous velvety patterned paper that you can see.

What bits of paper I had left I used it on the inside of the card and created the 2 musical notes myself. I will when I get the chance make an envelope for this.
flowery stars...
I also bought some great packs of Lucky Stars papers so I couldn't help creating 50 stars for you to receive too. Lucky stars are meant to have a meaning behind them in the sense of love but in my case I just like making them.

So if you like these items

Make My Day...Delicious Delights of Vera De Muis...

On Tuesday I got up early to open the door to my sister for my niece, I was actually late coming down and it was funny to open the door to find my niece sitting on the door step like a parcel. She was quite happily chattering away to the cat whilst her mum went to the car to get her phone to ask one of us to open the door. As I had  about an hour before I actually went to work I decided to sit down and craft. It simple was the best thing to do as I felt so relaxed that day....
Strawberry Vera De Muis
I picked up the strawberry which someone I used to write to sent to me a long time ago. I really wanted to create something with it but I didn't know what so I just gathered the background paper and started stitching away. There was an envelope on my desk which I've wondered for some time what it was but never got around to opening it but I did for some reason that morning and was so happy to see my Vera De Muis images which a different friend sent me and I've had fun for years creating with. Well the strawberry cake fitted in so well and everything fell into place.
Garden Vera De Muis
As you know I can never stop by making one card so I made another which is Vera's garden wonderland... I used exactly the same type of things but in a different style.... background paper, buttons, stitching using my Fibre Art equipment and the strawberry/flower but most of all of course a picture of Vera.

If you like these 2 wonderful cards which will have handmade envelopes due to my insane mind making these bigger then A6...

Make My Day...A Rubber Stampers Experiment...

A couple of weeks ago I went out and bought myself some Fimo to create with because a couple of years ago I received the most amazing Artistic Trading Card using it and a rubber stamp. Ever since I wanted to use Fimo in my crafts but never got around to it so when I saw a pack of 20 colours on sale in the craft store I couldn't resist buying it and giving it a try but I had to start small as its the first time I've used it.

So keep in mind its the first time I've used Fimo so don't expect something perfectly made as the edges are quite rough and badly cut but I didn't realise just how bad until I cooked it. I started by rolling out my Fimo, stamping on top of it and removing the edges I didn't want. I cooked it for 30 minutes on the lowest heat possible.
Fimo ATCs
I've used yellow card, orange and red strips to create a slope effect in the background, red paper background paper for the Fimo image, green buttons and the flower.
Fimo ATCs
Patterned paper backed on to card, white strip of paper to create the folding zig-zags, buttons and gold wire which I twisted on to a needle to create a spring..

You will be seeing more Fimo on this blog and I hope that you'll enjoy it. Even though its an ATC I don't want one in return but feel free to pass it on in trade for another.

Here are other things that I have created using the flowers above
