Make My Day... In the Garden with Sarah Kay...

Today I really wanted to use my rubber stamps but when I sat down to use them my black ink was on its last legs but I thought it was just my rubber stamp that was being awkward so ruined a few projects which resulted in me giving up on that for now... I then remember that I wrote a letter this week and used my Sarah Kay stickers which a friend sent me (the same friend that sent me the album, Vera De Muis images and a million other items that you'll see me using from time to time). She has been so good to me and I appreciate it as I can make all these fun items with them.... The sticker left behind was the largest one and I was still thinking of how I'd use it.

I had no intention of making another greeting card but I did and here's what I came up with.....
Sarah Kay Greeting Card 002
I started with the background paper which I felt fitted in well with the polka dots and flowers in the sticker.

I then added the doyle as it fitted in so well with the background paper. I used my pro marker to colour it in but now I regret not using 2 different colours.... quite possibly the green and a brown. Oh well it still looks great. It felt like there was something missing so added the punched flower, gem and iron on ribbon (which I've stuck down with double sided tape)

I really love polka dots but don't have any paper with smaller dots on so I used my hole punch to create the dots across the top. I still had one small sticker left which I used on the back of the envelope... I try to waste as little as possible even projects gone wrong can be used in some way.

A final close up of the sticker which I just love the detail of but also the relaxed pose of this girl. I backed her on to white card and stuck her down with sticky foam.

Remember you can always make suggestion of themes you'd like me to create around. I am in the process of braining storming one idea, I just can't seem to find those items that my brain is thinking about but I'm sure it will fall into place when the time is right.

Make My Day..... Sunset and Dance Nights....

I've had this card sitting on my desk for about 2 weeks now waiting to be completed as I only managed to get as far as the iris folding which I was inspired to do as I was working on the previous cards.
Its all fun 001
The Iris folding is the part in the middle... which has ended up completely lost in the background I know.... I've no idea when this card got so fussy....
Its all fun 004
I love working with vases so added this vase and wire ribbon that I bought a long time ago...
Its all fun 002
This side was looking a little empty compared to the rest so I added my lines....
Its all fun 005
I finished it with the words 'I'm so sorry' which was a request and added the buttons.... yes I know super fussy. I do have an idea for something to do with forgiveness but I just haven't had the time to get that idea into reality yet so hopefully I will do at some point this year.

This next card I've actually had on my desk longer then the one above, it just wasn't coming together so I left it until my brain would register what exactly to do with it so I hope you like it what I've done.
Its all fun 006
The image was too big for the card that came with it so I used plain white card, decorated it with backing paper, stuck on the dancer and cut around her.
Its all fun 007
I then added the ribbon, poppy and buttons....
Its all fun 013
and used pealised paper and beaded ribbon wire on the inside. I only had this gold one left so ended up using the silver on the first one and the gold one on this even though gold did suit the first one.... oh well!

Make My Day...A Rubber Stampers Experiment...

A couple of weeks ago I went out and bought myself some Fimo to create with because a couple of years ago I received the most amazing Artistic Trading Card using it and a rubber stamp. Ever since I wanted to use Fimo in my crafts but never got around to it so when I saw a pack of 20 colours on sale in the craft store I couldn't resist buying it and giving it a try but I had to start small as its the first time I've used it.

So keep in mind its the first time I've used Fimo so don't expect something perfectly made as the edges are quite rough and badly cut but I didn't realise just how bad until I cooked it. I started by rolling out my Fimo, stamping on top of it and removing the edges I didn't want. I cooked it for 30 minutes on the lowest heat possible.

I've used yellow card, orange and red strips to create a slope effect in the background, red paper background paper for the Fimo image, green buttons and the flower.

Patterned paper backed on to card, white strip of paper to create the folding zig-zags, buttons and gold wire which I twisted on to a needle to create a spring..

You will be seeing more Fimo on this blog and I hope that you'll enjoy it. Even though its an ATC I don't want one in return but feel free to pass it on in trade for another.

Here are other things that I have created using the flowers above
