Make My Day~You are...~

As I mentioned I wanted to make something simple....
I'm going to try and create something using these #alphabet #letters #yarn #thread #rubberstamps #card #urbanstamps
I've used rubber stamps, ink, alphabet letters and yarn to create these postcards. Here's what I came up with....

They were so easy to make and look so effective. This was inspired by some of the feel good projects I've been doing lately but whether they made someones day or not only they will know.

I wanted to make a whole range but today and yesterday my niece turned up and it was hard to do them. The Amazing one I stamped with her sitting in my lap because she some how always ends up there without me realising it, its why the stamping isn't so well thought out. I used an A4 sheet of card cut in half length ways.

I may make a couple more depending on time.

Make My Day ~Merry Christmas~

I hope that you are all having a fantastic Chrismtas weekend! For me its like any other day as I don't celebrate Christmas but I took part in the celebrating by making Christmas cards for everyone that I write to and all of you that have taken part in Make My Day so far. I hope that those of you that have received one liked or loved the one that you received and that it made your day as I intended it to happen.

I tried to use similar items on each one
one pack of paper
alphabet rubber stamps
beads
wire
thread
punched flowers
my handmade templates (except 2 cards)

I also tried to think of things associated with Christmas (more the commericial side instead of the religious side as I found that unfortunately too difficult to create). I made the ones below of course but still feel disappointed that I couldn't have a nativity scene, 3 wise men, candles, etc.... but I love what I did get the chance to make.

I'd now love to try making some valentines cards, if you'd like to receive one just e-mail me at burstsofbubbles(at)hotmail(dot)com with your address and who knows you may one day get a card from me.

I know some of you have seen these on my other blog but since I sent them to a lot of you on this blog I wanted to share then here too. I hope that you found them inspiring and will continue to claim my items in the new year.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Make My Day....Born To Be British!

I have a giveaway currently going on at my burst of bubbles blog offering these salt and pepper shakers which I actually really like but won't be keeping as the shop I bought them from have so many fun different ones that I want to buy them all and I really can't afford to start another collection can I?
Telephone Box and Post Box Salt and Pepper Shakers
Whilst wrapping those I was thinking about this idea that I came across and really wanted to try but also thinking about making the children at work some Christmas cards out of another idea I saw but don't have a link for. It was using Japanese paper to make baubles and stuck on to white card... it looked so effective.... That resulted in me creating these...
Born in Britain
I ended up making a set of 3 using paper, rubber stamp and thread.
Telephone Box
Isn't it annoying that after you've created something all these ideas come flooding to you. With this one instead of the black outline I wish I'd done a wiggly one to match a telephone wire. We have a cordless one now but I've always loved the idea of twirling my finger in the coils.. I'm glad I thought to use the rubber stamp numbers to match the dial.
London Bus
I remade this one and like it so much better.
Postbox
This one was actually the first one I made, with this one I wish I'd made the border like a postage stamp but I'd already completed this one and had nearly finished the telephone box when I thought of the idea.

As for the paper if I'd plan this through it would have been so much nicer to have printed off some union jacks instead but I guess it had to be red to match all the redness of all things British. Even though I've had a good whinge I absolutely love how they have all turned out and for a first attempt. I will definately be making many more of these... hopefully very soon!

Make My Day...Fruit Bowl Postcards...

A couple of weeks ago I couldn't sleep very well at night and after reading about Bundles of Blossoms  Cosmopolitan Country creation... I think it triggered my thoughts into patchwork. In my days of creating FBs I once made some patchwork ones, they were just simple randomly cut up pieces of left over scrapbook paper and then I stitched it along the lines... I thought they turned out great at that time but who knows if they were as I was still so new to crafting then.

I then thought about how at work the children had done some still life fruit/Vegetable drawings and I too had sat and drawn too...  I hardly ever draw as I can not do it off the top of my head but I was amazed at how great my drawing had turned out. After that I promised myself that when I do eventually get a house I'm going to sit and draw some still life pictures to frame and put up in my kitchen (if there is space)....

So with all of this swishing around my brain it all formed into this.....
Fruity Postcards
I absolutely love created my own templates by folding pieces of paper in half, they may look childish I don't know. This apple was the one that didn't come together as easily but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
 Fruit Postcard
I had to recreate all of these postcards again so none of them look like the original. I had asked my mum to use my sewing machine to do the zig-zags around the edges but it turned into such a nightmare instead as she didn't understand what I meant but also she's used to working with fabric where if you make a mistake you just undo the stitched and carry on. You can't do that with paper as the hole don't disappear
Fruit Postcard
I was of course devasted but in the end I decided to use a ruler and my fibre art tool to create the zig-zags myself.  I then hand stitched every single one of these.
Now its up to you if you use these as postcard or if you decide to frame them and put them in your kitchen. Its why I've left them as flat as possible but also made 3 as those landscape photo style frames come in 3s.

I know its too early to mention Christmas but here are some cards I created using the same method
