Make My Day ~Loose Stationery Sheets #3~

Going to sit and write a letter today, I can't wait!One of the things I love about a holiday is that I can be so productive!Untitled@iheartmail all done with your letter #snailmail #bears #rabbits #clovers #cakes #doughnuts #houses #paris #tourist #kamio #kawaii #cat #buildings #smile
I know I said I wanted to have more handmade things on my blog but I don't feel up to it which has resulted in this blog being some what abandoned this year. I want to get it more active so I guess I'll offer what ever I can when I can and theres always next year for a complete handmade burst.

As I've often mentioned I write long letters and have quite a few sheets left at the end of each set. I could of course use them by putting them all together and writing on them but I'd much rather open a new pack of paper and offer the loose sheets to one of you on my blog to use.

As an added bonus I'm going to include all the envelope and some of the stickers to these sets as I don't tend to use either.

So if you would like everything
Please shout
Make My Day
in the comment section.

Good Luck!

Make My Day.... It's a postal thing....

Picnik collage
I've mentioned before that I won't always post handmade items but what I will try and do is post snail mail or craft related things when I can't craft.

I'm a long letter writer and always find that I have a lot of sheets left over, I sold a lot of them on Ebay but its such an effort to list items as I end up spending way too much time on the computer.... I gave many to the children on Postpals.... and now I'm offering these to you so you have maybe 2 to 6 sheets here and the complete set of envelopes as I don't use them at all.

To add a little something extra I've included the magnets which of course are snail mail related and from Claires... the packagings a little squashed but otherwise they are fine.

Anyway if your a snail mail addict
and would like these items
just shout
'Make My Day'
in the comment section!

Make My Day...Travel the World with me Postcard....

I know I didn't post anything during the week but over the weekend I had really bad stomach cramps, I haven't had them for some time as I'm trying to change my eating habits so it was a little unbearable... then the first day back after the holidays we get a phone call at work from Ofstead so my week just went into going to work early and coming back later....

One thing I did do was read a book called The Pirates Daugter, I didn't sleep too great one of the nights this week so my mind ended up crafting so whilst I was laying there my mind just came up with this....
Travel Map Postcard 001
This looks a lot nicer for real.
My mind actually thought about a A-Z style maps but I'm not cutting up my A-Z as I still use it! So I knew that I already had this map that came in a collection of papers a friend sent me a long time ago.
Travel Map Postcard 004
I used distress ink around the edges to give it a sandy look since you end up somewhere near a sandy beach when you come off a boat.
Travel Map Postcard 005
By the way I did imagine using these images (well not these exact ones but from the booklet I own with them in). My thoughts were actually of hand stitching around the edges but I didn't feel up to it so used a ruler and pen to create the lines which smugded creating a little more of an oldish/worn out look.
Travel Map Postcard 002
I then imagined that I'd have a compass right in the middle on the side... only I added the compass but at the bottom instead... because
Travel Map Postcard 003
I wanted to add these tickets which I made using sand paper to get a little old rough edge feel to it. I had imagined folding the map as I have done which I used to do a lot in my days of making neat FBs but for some reason never used again. I realised it would make great pockets which is why I've added the tickets as I have. Originally the world ticket would have just been there on its own but it looked like something was missing so I used my brand new inks to stamp this floral border. I never imagined the yellow would be so strong as usually they are so light and annoying... which has left me over the moon as I'll be able to use it a lot more often.

So this is what I spent about an hour of my morning doing and now I hope you now like this enough to shout 'make my day'.

Make My Day...The future comes one day at a time...

I've removed the first postcard that I made like this and I can happily say that I made this one in my first attempt and it looks so much better then the last one... even though technically its exactly the same thing.
freedom
I started this time by stamping the cage and the text as I decided that if I made a mistake I wouldn't have put loads of effort in first. This is something I'm going to have to remember in the future as it works so much better.
freedom
I then used 1 shade of yellow and 2 shades of blue distress ink to create the background.
freedom
I used pages from an old book about guillotines so don't read the words too carefully, I just thought it was better used this way.
freedom
I decided it needed a little something more so added buttons which now means I need to make an envelope to go with this postcard.
freedom
I finished it off with the lines and backed it on to black card.

I hope you like this enough to shout make my day!

Make My Day....Dance with me!....

I've spent another great Saturday afternoon crafting and here's what I've come up with for make my day... I hope you like it enough to try and claim it for yourself.
Vintage Dance Postcard (4)
I started with this picture which is from the internet but I don't know which website as someone sent me it. I then choose the backing paper to go with the image...
Vintage Dance Postcard (5)
I think she looks quite blokish... which put me off a little but her dress was so inspiring.
Vintage Dance Postcard (2)
I did get all my lace ribbons out but it just felt like they weren't right despite her dress over flowing with it. I remembered I had a pack full of about a million doyles so used that and like it so much more.
Vintage Dance Postcard (3)
I then got a needle and wound the wire around it to create this springy effect. The beads are some that I've had for a long time and got through a swap and they fitted in perfectly.
Vintage Dance Postcard
Finally this flower... I sat for far too long wondering what to put in this corner, I tried paper flowers, words etc... but then I decided to continue with wire and made this flower. I've never made flowers like this before so it took a lot of attempts but finally with the help of a needle I created this. I'm really pleased with it and it doesn't put me off that the petals are different sizes.

The idea of make my day is to comment that you'd like the postcard... start with make my day, that way I can tell the difference between the person claiming it or just commenting. If a lot of you comment that you'd like one of my items then I'll use a name generator. I will let whoever gets it know on a Monday evening (evening in the UK that is). Remember you can claim for someone else if you want me to send whatever to them...

Some other ways that I have used wire... these photos are of ATCs (Artistic Trading Cards)

Make My Day....Only time will tell!

Well since many of you voted that you'd share your address with me and would take part in claiming whatever I make... I decided to get crafty today and get the ball rolling.

The idea of make my day is to comment that you'd like the postcard... start with make my day, that way I can tell the difference between the person claiming it or just commenting. If a lot of you comment that you'd like one of my items then I'll use a name generater doda.  I will let whoever gets it know on a Monday evening (evening in the UK that is). Remember you can claim for someone else if you want me to send whatever to them...

So this time I've started with a postcard which actually turned out to be quite a pain since I decided to use a stamp but only half the image came up but I only had that one piece of coloured card. I tried maybe 5 times more to just get the text on the background right and in the end I gave up and stuck with this one so I hope whoever receives it isn't to critical of my mess. For me though its more or less how I wanted it.
Only Time will tell
This is the front which I used white card, text stamp (which I can never tell which way up it should be), a paperartsy flower stamp and the clocks are from Cherry Pie Art Stamps. The colours are distress inks and water colour pencil crayons.
Only Time will tell
The back which isn't yet complete as I need to find a black pen from somewhere.

Here are some more images
Only Time will tell
I wish I had a stamp of a face as it would have looked great having half the face on this part of the card with the clocks.
Only Time will tell
The reason I want the face in the other photo is because of the man in this one. Doesn't he look a bit creepy.
Only Time will tell
