Make My Day ~Keep in Touch~

I'm wondering if I should turn this one into a notebook as I think it would look great but it mentions birthdays. Stamps are a gift from @paperedthoughts #stamps #wellingtonbear #postbox
This alphabet reminds me of shreddies #wellingtonbear #card #alphabet #typewriterUntitled
A couple of weeks ago I offered this Telephone Box but first I had intended on making some greeting cards so had put these images together. Since creating the box these images have been sitting on my desk getting in the way so today I finally decided to continue with my 'keeping it simple' in order not to completely drown everything out and create some cards. The card on these greeting cards is a glittery brown/bronze colour.

The first ones I just used some postage stamps that paperedthoughts had sent me as a thank you and I'd forgotten about until I started sorting through my pile of envelopes (I say pile but they are all put into a basket under my bed until I am ready to put them into my box of letters). This card is A5 size (a printer paper sheet folded in half), I actually really wanted to turn that one in to a slim notebook as I think it would look great but I don't know if any of you would like that considering on the postbox it says 'Birthday Collection' and one of the parcels says 'Happy Birthday' that's actually quite annoying as I don't really like words on my things unless they really fit in. So if you get this and would like a notebook let me know.

The others are also straight forward with the typewriter one having alphabet stickers on, I did think of using a more typewriter looking one but these Shredded Wheat ones add a little something to it. The last one I've used scrapbook paper with writing on and I've cut up washi tape to get the little stamps.

I think I'm doing well keeping it simple but I am itching to do something fussy so maybe next time :).

The writing paper below will be available also for another week so get shouting Make My Day in the comment sections.

Make My Day....Vintage Love Letter....

I absolutely love altering items and used to do it a lot but for some reason I haven't had the chance to do it in maybe a year or so but today I decided to change all that by altering this lovely yellow album a friend sent me along time ago after she saw what I did with the first one she sent me...

I've added the image of the album I altered in here too so that you can see what I did last time as this time I've done something a little different but not too different as I've used the same style of images.

I started by covering the album in some handmade paper (not handmade by me though).
Vintage Letter Album
I hadn't intended to use these photos but then I decided even though its a photo album it will be great to store postcards in too. So when I started looking through my images these were the only ones that fit in. This then meant I had to use background paper with writing on and everything else fell into place.

I started with using distress inks, chalk and coloured pen on the doyle, I cut it in half and used one on each end. I stuck the images down and used one of my pre-cut decoupage flowers which I just loved.

The charm was a must to start with because when I created my tatty teddy cards I had wanted to use a charm but none fit in with what they represented... this for some reason was still on my desk when I sat down and it fit in nicely whether you use it for photos or postcards.

I then finished it off with postage marks but I really need to look into getting a pack of different postmarks because this ones only for Paris and it doesn't really fit in since the writings all in English. I don't have a problem with it though as people in Paris write English also.

I'm not so keen on these collage images but I take so many photos that I want to use all of them even though I still didn't manage it as I can't work out picnik just yet... I'll be using it more often though in order not to overflow you with images. Heres a link to the flickr album with close up photos of this item.

Make My Day...Fruit Bowl Postcards...

A couple of weeks ago I couldn't sleep very well at night and after reading about Bundles of Blossoms  Cosmopolitan Country creation... I think it triggered my thoughts into patchwork. In my days of creating FBs I once made some patchwork ones, they were just simple randomly cut up pieces of left over scrapbook paper and then I stitched it along the lines... I thought they turned out great at that time but who knows if they were as I was still so new to crafting then.

I then thought about how at work the children had done some still life fruit/Vegetable drawings and I too had sat and drawn too...  I hardly ever draw as I can not do it off the top of my head but I was amazed at how great my drawing had turned out. After that I promised myself that when I do eventually get a house I'm going to sit and draw some still life pictures to frame and put up in my kitchen (if there is space)....

So with all of this swishing around my brain it all formed into this.....
Fruity Postcards
I absolutely love created my own templates by folding pieces of paper in half, they may look childish I don't know. This apple was the one that didn't come together as easily but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
 Fruit Postcard
I had to recreate all of these postcards again so none of them look like the original. I had asked my mum to use my sewing machine to do the zig-zags around the edges but it turned into such a nightmare instead as she didn't understand what I meant but also she's used to working with fabric where if you make a mistake you just undo the stitched and carry on. You can't do that with paper as the hole don't disappear
Fruit Postcard
I was of course devasted but in the end I decided to use a ruler and my fibre art tool to create the zig-zags myself.  I then hand stitched every single one of these.
Now its up to you if you use these as postcard or if you decide to frame them and put them in your kitchen. Its why I've left them as flat as possible but also made 3 as those landscape photo style frames come in 3s.

I know its too early to mention Christmas but here are some cards I created using the same method
