Make My Day~Secret Letter 1~Garden of Eden~

Letter
Here is the final letter for this time,
Would you liked me to do this again in one of my holidays?
I was deciding what to use when I opened my cupboard and saw these skeleton leaves.I actually had a whole pack of big ones but I've no idea where I've put them which is why its mostly little ones. I stuck all the leaves on to sticky back plastic and cut around it and then stuck the end down that doesn't have the plastic on it because if you've ever worked with skeleton leaves you'll know how fragile they are. I added flower gems stickers, paper and tape.

I hope you like them enough to shout

in the comment section!

Again I've made an envelope I can't use as I thought later that if I fold the last sheet in 4 the leaves may break.

Remember if you receive this letter you can write a letter to the owner of it
or if you feel they aren't quite what you wanted then
why not send them a little postcard in exchange for it.
Hopefully though you'll have gained a new friend.

Thanks everyone whose voted in my poll so far,
if you haven't done yet please do as its a tie.

This is on its way...

~Make My Day Birthday Bash 1~Pink and Gold Altered Box~

altered box
I had a giveaway on my other blog and needed a box for that item so I bought a set of 3 different sized boxes in this lovely brown... ok its not quite lovely but its great for me to alter in to something more attractive.

This is the smallest of the boxes and here is what I came up with....
altered box
Since its the start of the Chinese New Year I decided to think of something along the lines of it as last year I created a bookmark for the event. The pink paper has dragons on it (for the year of the dragon), I then added punched flowers, gems and this medallion peel off in layers. Its simple but I love it.

Inside the box I've added lots of used stamps for you to craft with or to decorate your letters... I'm sure you'll think of something.

If you would like this box

Make My Day~Recipe for Love~

Hearts and Lace
Apparently Love involves
Lacey Silk Underwear
Good Music
and Sparkle
so what better things to craft with!

I bought a new gadget yesterday so had to use it
(I'll be crafting about said gadget on my other blog tomorrow)
I cut two hearts out and stitched them on top of each other
which is an idea I've seen but never tried and I think it looks good.
What do you think?
I had to do something different with the ribbon so came up with
the rippling idea but I don't know if I like it...

If you would like this card
why don't you shout

Make My Day... In the Garden with Sarah Kay...

Today I really wanted to use my rubber stamps but when I sat down to use them my black ink was on its last legs but I thought it was just my rubber stamp that was being awkward so ruined a few projects which resulted in me giving up on that for now... I then remember that I wrote a letter this week and used my Sarah Kay stickers which a friend sent me (the same friend that sent me the album, Vera De Muis images and a million other items that you'll see me using from time to time). She has been so good to me and I appreciate it as I can make all these fun items with them.... The sticker left behind was the largest one and I was still thinking of how I'd use it.

I had no intention of making another greeting card but I did and here's what I came up with.....
Sarah Kay Greeting Card 002
I started with the background paper which I felt fitted in well with the polka dots and flowers in the sticker.

I then added the doyle as it fitted in so well with the background paper. I used my pro marker to colour it in but now I regret not using 2 different colours.... quite possibly the green and a brown. Oh well it still looks great. It felt like there was something missing so added the punched flower, gem and iron on ribbon (which I've stuck down with double sided tape)

I really love polka dots but don't have any paper with smaller dots on so I used my hole punch to create the dots across the top. I still had one small sticker left which I used on the back of the envelope... I try to waste as little as possible even projects gone wrong can be used in some way.

A final close up of the sticker which I just love the detail of but also the relaxed pose of this girl. I backed her on to white card and stuck her down with sticky foam.

Remember you can always make suggestion of themes you'd like me to create around. I am in the process of braining storming one idea, I just can't seem to find those items that my brain is thinking about but I'm sure it will fall into place when the time is right.

Anyway if you'd like this item

Make My Day...Fruit Bowl Postcards...

A couple of weeks ago I couldn't sleep very well at night and after reading about Bundles of Blossoms  Cosmopolitan Country creation... I think it triggered my thoughts into patchwork. In my days of creating FBs I once made some patchwork ones, they were just simple randomly cut up pieces of left over scrapbook paper and then I stitched it along the lines... I thought they turned out great at that time but who knows if they were as I was still so new to crafting then.

I then thought about how at work the children had done some still life fruit/Vegetable drawings and I too had sat and drawn too...  I hardly ever draw as I can not do it off the top of my head but I was amazed at how great my drawing had turned out. After that I promised myself that when I do eventually get a house I'm going to sit and draw some still life pictures to frame and put up in my kitchen (if there is space)....

So with all of this swishing around my brain it all formed into this.....
Fruity Postcards
I absolutely love created my own templates by folding pieces of paper in half, they may look childish I don't know. This apple was the one that didn't come together as easily but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
 Fruit Postcard
I had to recreate all of these postcards again so none of them look like the original. I had asked my mum to use my sewing machine to do the zig-zags around the edges but it turned into such a nightmare instead as she didn't understand what I meant but also she's used to working with fabric where if you make a mistake you just undo the stitched and carry on. You can't do that with paper as the hole don't disappear
Fruit Postcard
I was of course devasted but in the end I decided to use a ruler and my fibre art tool to create the zig-zags myself.  I then hand stitched every single one of these.
Now its up to you if you use these as postcard or if you decide to frame them and put them in your kitchen. Its why I've left them as flat as possible but also made 3 as those landscape photo style frames come in 3s.

I know its too early to mention Christmas but here are some cards I created using the same method
