I decided to make 2 bookmarks to make your day and I really hope they do...
I have so much origimi paper that I often think its a shame that I don't get to use it as the colours and styles are amazing. I'm glad I finally got an opportunity to do just that with the background.
This lady I cut around and stuck on top of the flowery background. It looks a little plain so I added the red borders.... if it wasn't a bookmark I would have added all kinds of embellishments and ribbon but its already has enough layers. The only thing that annoys me is that this lady is blurred but the quality was like that when I bought it, only in the shop it wasn't so obvious due to their lighting etc... Still its fun to work with them.
Next stop is valentines day which is still a week away but I actually made this first and then realised it was Chinese new year this week... but its nice to get double the treats right?
I started with my heart rubberstamp which basically looks like the top half of this bookmark. I still think that top part is missing something but I don't know what... I really hate that feeling.
I used my paper punch for the hearts, stuck the white card on to red card as it needed a little something so the border works nicely. It still looked a bit bland so I used a gold gel pen around the edges. Its times like this that I wish I had an embossing kit but I just think I have way too much craft stuff already without adding more.
If you would like these bookmarks, just start with 'make my day' and I will see you next week to let you know who will receive it.
These are now making the day of someone in Germany!
OMG, this is soooo soooo amazing ^0^
ReplyDeleteWe didn't really celebrate Chinese New Year because my friend wanted to see European things, so we kinda forgot... I love all your creative ideas!! I'm just commenting right now because I have so many bookmarks already, though it's a shame not to clame everything you produce ^^
Hi...I'm stalking you here too :-) How long does it take you to make something like this?
ReplyDeleteTanuki I completely forgot as I usually do something for it in my art club so will make maybe a chinese dragon tomorrow. It doesn't help that I've been having one of those weeks where my thoughts are insane so I didn't even wish you a nice day.
ReplyDeleteYou must be more organised then me because I can never find mine when I need them so I always feel you can never have enough bookmarks. I keep meaning to get a box and put them all in so that I know where to put them back when I finish a book.
Thanks dad for stalking :)...it really depends on what I'm using and making. Mostly I completely things in less then an hour. These maybe took me half an hour the most...
ReplyDeletegreat post and have fun with the new blog
ReplyDeleteThanks Becca
ReplyDeleteso, did anyone claim it at all? People, don't be shy! Bubbles, make my day ^0^
ReplyDeleteNo one has claimed it yet so you're the first....
ReplyDeletethe red hearts one I thought looked like chinese paper-cuts very appropriate! so do I need to comment with make my day to make a claim or something?

ReplyDeleteLemon shortbread thats all you have to do :).
ReplyDeleteTanuki that doesn't sound too great all these grandmothers passing away. Hopefully everythings ok with you.
that is beautiful! my DIL is from Taiwan so I (try) to remember to send "red envelopes" to her, my grandkids (I'm late!), and to her sister and brother (very late on those!)
ReplyDeleteI've always been a fan of yours and those bookmarks make it so easy to admire your work, it's so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI love geisha images so the first one is my favourite! Awesome job!

I love your bookmarks - especially the Chinese inspired. I was living in China last New Year's which was quite a thing to behold!
