The idea of make my day is to comment that you'd like the postcard... start with make my day, that way I can tell the difference between the person claiming it or just commenting. If a lot of you comment that you'd like one of my items then I'll use a name generater doda. I will let whoever gets it know on a Monday evening (evening in the UK that is). Remember you can claim for someone else if you want me to send whatever to them...
So this time I've started with a postcard which actually turned out to be quite a pain since I decided to use a stamp but only half the image came up but I only had that one piece of coloured card. I tried maybe 5 times more to just get the text on the background right and in the end I gave up and stuck with this one so I hope whoever receives it isn't to critical of my mess. For me though its more or less how I wanted it.
This is the front which I used white card, text stamp (which I can never tell which way up it should be), a paperartsy flower stamp and the clocks are from Cherry Pie Art Stamps. The colours are distress inks and water colour pencil crayons.
The back which isn't yet complete as I need to find a black pen from somewhere.
Here are some more images
I wish I had a stamp of a face as it would have looked great having half the face on this part of the card with the clocks.
The reason I want the face in the other photo is because of the man in this one. Doesn't he look a bit creepy.
If you have any suggestions of themes I can try creating with, just go to my sub headings under my banner, click on Make My Day and leave your suggestions in a comment there.

Make my day... with that amazingly pretty card. Wow, how detailed it is, you just used stamps and then painted it?
ReplyDeleteDo I do it right?
I gsve you an award on my blog!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gotthatswing for starting this off. I only used water colour pencils on the clock faces and around the edges, the rest of the colours are distress ink which I sponged on.
ReplyDeleteYes you've asked to have your day made the right way.... by starting with make my day :).
Good Luck
Thanks Barb :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can't come up with something beautiful like this.. so.. emm.. so 'make my day' ohhh... wish me luck heheee :)
ReplyDeleteMake my day...I have a bit of a fixation with clocks and watches...there are 4 clocks here in my "office" and I have about 35 wrist watches!!!
ReplyDeletehow cool
ReplyDeleteYou can make my day with that bit of steampunk greatness! Oh, yeah! :)
ReplyDeleteI will be making some soon, too. I only offer on my blog's facebook, tho.
Aida I know very little about stamping so I think you can produce something like this, I always find vintage stamps and these eccentric ones always work best with distress ink to my cuter stamps. Good Luck but don't worry if you don't get this particular card as I'll be doing something every week so hopefully eventually everyone will get something... fingers crossed....
ReplyDeleteDad I wouldn't have guessed you'd like clocks/watches, personally I only like images of them as I can't stand ticking....urgh especially when I'm trying to sleep it drives me insane. The clocks that I loved though were my next door neighbours Cuckoo Clocks. Still I'm glad I picked a theme that you can enjoy if you receive this :). Good Luck :D.
ReplyDeleteBecca Glad you like it
Ankh I'm curious to know what you've been making, your 52 days is turning out so well. I've got so many craft supplies and I hardly use them anymore because I've no real reason to make things anymore but I was finding I was hardly blogging about snail mail so decided to combine the 2 I just hope this turns out ok and I can keep up with the weekly making sessions.
Make my day... I think it turned out beautiful bubbles and I really can't see where the background is messed up? Looks great to me :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Signe
Thanks Signe, I guess its because I was happiest with my very first attempt and then I tried so many times that I just ended up noticing whats wrong with it. Thanks for joining in too... Good Luck :)
ReplyDeleteI sometimes think I may not be able to keep up with making clothes every week. But I am determined to stick to my project! (Thanks for the complement!) I'm sure you will feel the pressure, but the more you do it, the less pressure you will feel.
ReplyDeleteActually, as far as other crafts go:
I am planning an UN-birthday party for next weekend! :) I am going nuts trying to get everything ready. After the party, I will have more time to show off all that I made for the party! It's InSaNe!!! LOL ;)
As far as the silly holidays I love so much, the 7th of next month is Send a Card to a Friend Day. So that is probably when you'll see them on my blog. :)
Congrats to GotThatSwing ^0^ oh damn, this reminds me of something!
ReplyDeleteAnkh I hope you do manage to keep up the project as its a great idea and so fun to see what you come up with :). I can't wait to see what you come up with for your unbirthday day :)... any excuse to celebrate is a great one. So many things to look forward to on your blog when you get the chance to blog about them, I love the idea of the friendship day.
ReplyDeleteTanuki you've left me feeling so curious now :)
I'm glad you enjoy it. :)
ReplyDeleteThe un-birthday party is actually the day after my real birthday. I've been losing weight so hopefully that won't affect my costume. I'm so close to done!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who the man is... maybe some inventor or something :P... I just loved this range of stamps
ReplyDeleteWoow you cards are so amazing! I wish I have your talent with paper crafts :D
ReplyDeleteI'll stalk your blog so I can find inspiration and maybe I'd try to make some myself xD
